Tweeting without a strategy will not do much for your business. A twitter account can bring in business if it effectively helps potential clients get to know, like, and trust you. And that takes a lot of time and effort, not just on the part of Twitter developers, but by you through the content and information you provide. It's much like the decision to start a business. You really have to understand the art of telling the story about your business, and about yourself as the woman or man behind it.
Just a word of caution. The old addage of "here today, gone tomorrow" is grossly exaggerated in the cyber world. It's more like "here one minute, gone the next". Ask yourself if this is what you want to do every day, perhaps even, several times throughout the day.
If it's something you really enjoy then there's nothing wrong with blogging, tweeting, and tinkering with Facebook and LinkedIn. Just don't expect to be Tweeting all the way to the Bank without a sound marketing strategy to back it up.
